As a photographer, there’s nothing more special than being invited to capture life’s most precious moments—especially when they span from pregnancy to the arrival of a newborn. For Tor and Alex, these moments included not just the anticipation of their baby girl Nora, but also featuring their beloved dog, Vera, in their maternity shoot. What made both shoots so beautiful was their desire for the photos to feel unposed, natural, and very much a reflection of their everyday life.

Tor and Alex’s maternity shoot was a celebration of their journey as a family—one that already included their loyal furry friend, Vera. Taking place at their home, the shoot was all about embracing those simple, intimate moments. Tor and Alex specifically wanted to make sure Vera was included in the session, which I absolutely loved. After all, dogs are family too! Vera happily joined in for shots both indoors and during our stroll outdoors, making the session feel relaxed and full of warmth. We walked through the nearby surroundings, letting Tor and Alex enjoy the peacefulness of the day, with Vera joyfully trotting alongside them. It was such a special way to mark this chapter in their lives—no fancy posing, just capturing the love and excitement as it naturally unfolded.

Nora Arrives: A Newborn Shoot Full of Love

Fast forward a little while and baby Nora made her arrival! Tor and Alex invited me back for a newborn shoot with the same relaxed, real-life feel. By this point, they felt even more at ease in front of the camera, which made the session flow effortlessly. We once again focused on the beauty of their everyday life, this time with Nora at the centre of it all.

Just like the maternity shoot, this session took place at home, with a focus on natural moments—feeding, snuggles, and gentle interactions with their new baby girl. Nora was a dream, and we captured those early days of parenthood where time seems to slow down, and the smallest moments mean the most. There was no pressure for posed shots, which allowed for a sense of calm and connection to shine through in the photos.
