Capturing the Calm Before the Wedding
Some couples just get it – and Ashlea and Josh are one of them. When they reached out about an engagement photography shoot ahead of their 2026 wedding, they knew exactly what they wanted: a relaxed, joy-filled two-day shoot that captured this special moment in their lives. Not just for their wedding website (though it’s going to look amazing), but to soak up some quality time together and document the beauty of the life they’re building.

Why the Cotswolds?
We headed to the Cotswolds, where they’ll be tying the knot in 2026 at Primrose Hill. It’s a stunning location, and one that’s become really meaningful for them – a place that feels like their new home. As an engagement photographer, there’s nothing better than shooting in a location that feels right for the couple, and the Cotswolds delivered on every front: soft rolling hills, golden light, and the kind of calm that makes space for real connection.

Two Days, Two Vibes: Sunrise to Sunset
Ashlea and Josh wanted two totally different vibes for their photos – so we did just that. We shot at both sunset and sunrise, chasing beautiful light and quiet moments. Over the two days, we explored different backdrops, from wide-open landscapes to tucked-away spots that let their personalities shine through. It gave us time to slow down, laugh a lot, and for me to really get to know them ahead of the big day.

Why Engagement Shoots Matter
I absolutely love doing engagement photography sessions like this because it gives couples a chance to be present together, away from the wedding planning chaos. It also makes wedding day photography feel so much more relaxed — because by then, we already know each other and they know how fun and easy it can be in front of the camera.
